Description
Stars of a Little House by Firouz Hejazi is a deeply moving and beautifully poignant meditation on exile, grief, and the healing power of a timeless philosophy.
The atmosphere of the stories is rich in local imagery, the concerns of the working and middle classes, nostalgia for the past, and a yearning for the future. In some stories, migration to big cities and a longing for the simplicity and peace of rural life are depicted; in others, reflecting on past memories, teenage attachments, and confronting the stark reality of life and economic hardships take center stage. With a calm yet deeply emotional tone, the author narrates the concerns and fates of characters who, amid social, family, and changing times, are seeking meaning in life and preserving their humanity.
