Farsi Biamuzim was created by Lily Ayman, who wrote Iran’s elementary school readers before the 1979 revolution. She later adapted her work for the large community of Iranian children growing up outside their homeland. The book has since been adopted by community Persian language classes across the United States, Europe, and wherever Iranian, Afghan, and other Persian-speaking émigré communities have settled. It is also used in colleges, government programs, and by independent learners. Ibex Publishers also offers a teachers’ manual as well as a second-grade and a third-grade reader in the series.

The Diaries of Asadollah Alam may be the most important document about the inner workings of the Mohammad Reza Pahlavi period. These candid, almost-daily entries were written by Alam during the ten years he held the official position of Minister of the Imperial Court, as well as the unofficial position of the Shah’s best friend. The diaries intimately document the Shah’s personal and political life. Periodically, Alam would send the writings to Switzerland for safe keeping. The Alam diaries begin in 1967, shortly after he is appointed to the Ministry of Court., putting him is in a unique position during an important time in Iranian history.
