The Fragrance of Jasmine is a collection of 12 short stories by Abbas Maroufi.

انتشار آثار تازه عباس معروفی از سال ۱۳۷۰ در ایران ممنوع شده است. عباس معروفی در میان نویسندگان معاصر ایران، بخصوص پس از انتشار رمان «سمفونی مردگان»، از شهرت و اعتبار ویژه‌ای برخوردار شده است.
کتاب حاضر که مجموعه‌ای از داستانهای تازه و کوتاه اوست برای اولین بار در خارج از کشور چاپ و منتشر می‌شود. پیش از این سه مجموعه داستان دیگر، چند نمایشنامه و یک رمان از عباس معروفی در داخل کشور انتشار یافته است. او همچنین سردبیری و مدیریت انتشار بیست شماره از مجلهٔ ماهانهٔ «گردون» را بعهده داشت که با توقیف آن، ادامهٔ انتشارش میسر نشد. عباس معروفی همچنین سردبیری سه شماره از فصل‌نامهٔ موسیقی «آهنگ» و چهار شماره از ویژه‌نامه موسیقی «آهنگ» را عهده‌دار بوده است.

The publication of new works by Abbas Maroufi has been banned in Iran since 1991. Among contemporary Iranian writers, Abbas Maroufi has attained particular prominence and distinction, especially following the publication of his novel Symphony of the Dead.

The present volume, a collection of his new short stories, is being published outside Iran for the first time. Previously, three other collections of short stories, several plays, and one novel by Abbas Maroufi had been published in Iran. He also served as editor-in-chief and publication director for twenty issues of the monthly magazine Gardoon. Following the magazine’s suspension, further publication became impossible. Abbas Maroufi also served as editor-in-chief of three issues of the quarterly music journal Ahang and four issues of the Ahang music special edition.
